Brunswick Community Hospital to Host Free Seminar on Women and Heart Disease

Supply-Brunswick Community Hospital will host a free seminar on women and heart disease on Thursday, June 19 at 2:30 p.m., in the Brunswick Electric Membership Corporation Community Room at 795 Ocean Highway in Shallotte.
Linda Calhoun, M.D., will offer tips on how women can protect themselves from heart disease, the number one killer of women in the United States. Calhoun is a board certified cardiologist with Brunswick Heart Associates, which is located next to Brunswick Community Hospital in Supply, N.C.
She will discuss the risk factors for heart disease as well as the signs and symptoms. Calhoun will also discuss prevention and treatment options to protect heart health.
The seminar is part of Brunswick Community Hospital's Focus on Health program, which is free and open to people of all ages.
Light refreshments will be served from 2:30 to 3 p.m., and the program will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. Registration is required. Call (910) 755-1125 to register or for more information on the upcoming seminar.
