Supply - Summer heat, changing weather conditions and increased activity can be tough for anyone with breathing difficulties. For individuals with conditions such as COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), bronchitis or asthma, the hot summer months can be especially challenging.
On Thursday, August 21, Margaret Brown, respiratory therapist at Brunswick Community Hospital will present a free seminar on about how to protect yourself, and your lungs, from the heat. Brown received her degree as a respiratory care practitioner from Catawba Community College in Hickory, NC.
The seminar, part of Brunswick Community Hospital's Focus on Health lecture series, will be held in the Brunswick Electric Membership Corporation Community Room at 795 Ocean Highway in Shallotte. Light refreshments will be served at 2:30, and the program will begin at 2:45 p.m.
Registration for the seminar is required. Call (910) 755-1125 to register or for more information on the upcoming seminar.
