Brunswick Community Hospital to Present Free Heart Month Seminars in Southport and Supply

Supply, N.C. - Heart disease is the leading killer of both men and women in the United States, but there???s good news too with advancements being made rapidly in prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the disease. In honor of Heart Month, join J.L. Aldrich, MD, and Chris Ellis, MD, to learn how you can protect one of your most precious assets ??? your heart.
At seminars on Tuesday, January 26, and Thursday, February 18, Dr. Aldrich will offer tips for prevention and explain how the disease is diagnosed, while Dr. Ellis will detail many of the new, advanced treatments available for heart disease.
The seminars, part of Brunswick Community Hospital???s Focus on Health series, will be held at the Southport Senior Center at 1513 N. Howe Street on January 26 and at the Brunswick Electric Community Room at 795 Ocean Highway on February 18. Both seminars will be held at 2:30 p.m., and light refreshments will be provided.
Dr. Aldrich, who is board certified in cardiology and nuclear cardiology, practices at Heart Specialists of Brunswick with offices in Southport and Calabash. He is on medical staff at Brunswick Community Hospital and Dosher Memorial Hospital, and he is joined by Nurse Practitioner Steven Snyder at Heart Specialists of Brunswick.
Dr. Ellis is also board-certified in cardiology, and he has offices in Supply and Wilmington. He is a member of Brunswick Heart Associates, which is a branch of Wilmington Cardiology, and Dr. Ellis is on medical staff at Brunswick Community Hospital, New Hanover Regional Medical Center and Cape Fear Hospital.
