Supply, N.C. - Brunswick Community Hospital recently recognized five exceptional employees with Novant Health???s prestigious Circle of Excellence award, which recognizes employees who consistently demonstrate excellence in the hospital???s core values of compassion, teamwork, personal excellence and diversity.

This year???s recipients include Denise Bordlemay, RN, of the intensive care unit; Sue Leach, RN, corporate educator; Carolyn Long of patient access, Deborah Rochelle, manager of service excellence and volunteers; and Nellrisa Smith of laboratory services. These honorees were each nominated by their peers and selected by a committee made up of staff and leaders.

???We have many employees who exceed expectations, but the Circle of Excellence truly is an exclusive group,??? said Brunswick Community Hospital President Denise Mihal, RN, MBA. ???They are the individuals we see consistently going out of their way to do something special for our patients, our visitors and their co-workers. They truly exemplify our vision of providing the remarkable patient experience in a manner that others respect and admire.???

The honorees were named and recognized at a Circle of Excellence Celebration recently held at the hospital. In addition to the surprise recognition, the winners were also stunned to see that the hospital had invited their family members and friends to be part of the recognition ceremony.

???Spouses, parents, children and friends are the people behind the scenes supporting these individuals in what they do everyday at the hospital,??? Mihal said. ???It was very important for them to be part of the celebration as well.???

With a combined total of nearly 50 years of service at Brunswick Community Hospital, the five honorees were described by their peers with phrases like ???works tirelessly for the comfort and care of her patients,??? ???creates a great first impression,??? ???works to ensure that BCH is a remarkable place to receive care and a remarkable place to work,??? and ???the epitome of customer service.???

Each recipient of the Circle of Excellence award received a plaque, lapel pin, and a $50 Visa gift card. The Circle of Excellence is a recognition program throughout Novant Health, Brunswick Community Hospital???s parent health system, so these recipients will be recognized not only locally but also throughout Novant Health.
