Following recent approvals by the Federal Trade Commission and the Virginia Attorney General, Prince William Health System (PWHS) of Manassas, Va., and Novant Health of North Carolina announced today they have finalized an agreement to merge. Both organizations are not-for-profit health systems.
Novant Health, a North Carolina based not-for-profit healthcare system, experienced a $187 million loss in 2008. In contrast, the health system had a positive net income in 2007 of $205 million.
